Geek Ink Updates: After more than four years of blogging, I finally discovered the Insert More Tag

I am busy writing up my Pacific Rim review, so I decided to look around and see if I could find a way to hide spoilers without simply whiting out the text. As a result I accidentally discovered the Insert More Tag. For years I’d been wondering, how do people get that awesome introductory paragraph followed by the option to “Continue reading”? I had always assumed it was an option that was only available to paid themes.

Boy, do I feel like a bit of an idiot. So I’m posting about this so others may learn from my idiocy.

First, you create a suitably catchy introductory paragraph.

Today I discovered the secret to making millions of dollars with absolutely no work required.

You then simply select the Insert More Tag tool, which is located right next to the Proofread Writing tool.

It will insert a dotted line which has the word “More” at the end, and you simply select the line below it and keep on writing.
