Cool Stuff: Cape Town music lovers, be sure to bookmark Boring Cape Town Chick

Boring Cape Town Chick blog

I stumbled upon Boring Cape Town Chick’s blog a few days ago when I was looking for information about the Eminem concert. It’s a very active site that mostly covers music events, but also posts up other cool event info. I went back a few pages and found out about a few events that I would have loved to have gone to, if I only I had known about them.

  1. Good day! This is kind of off topic but I need some guidance from an
established blog. Is it hard to set up your own blog?
I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick.
I’m thinking about setting up my own but I’m not sure where to start.
Do you have any tips or suggestions? With thanks

    1. Hey,

I hardly consider myself a successful blogger, but my blog readership is growing, so here’s a few tips.

      – Write consistently

When I first started I would post at random, so it was hard for people to engage. Now I post at least 2-3 times a week.

      – Don’t write essays

I’ve found that my medium/shorter sized posts get the most views. My longer posts tend to get less traffic.

      – Provide answers to questions

In regards to building an audience, try and provide them with “useful” information. I say “useful” because what is useful to your target audience is useless to someone else. My most successful posts are reviews and event posts.

      And finally…

      – These things take time.

I’ve been blogging for about 4 years now. I only started getting decent amounts of traffic in 2012.

      Hope that helps!
